Mlle Amelie Humbert to Mrs Tanner

Scope and Content

Written from Neuchatel, Switzerland.

She thanks her for the enclosed cheque; she and her sister are very touched by the decision of the Committee about their grant to them in spite of the great need of the work and they will quite understand if later the Committee decide to stop the grant. She has just spent two days with JB at Berne: 'although tired Mrs Butler was bright and so full of life I could not but admire what God had done for her in allowing her to be again at the front of the battle.' Her father is no worse and they enjoyed a few weeks in the country that summer near Neuchatel.
