He gives more news of Switzerland. He says he they will return to baby Angela [daughter] at St Leonards [-on-Sea] on 2 September. He thanks his father for his sanitary suggestions for Padiham. He writes of ministerial changes, including [Robert] Lowe's transformation into Home Secretary. He talks briefly about Gawthorpe. He says he has no more news of the Burnley Collier's strike.
