He gives an account of the election campaign. He says that the church bells were rung [in celebration]. He gives a summary of Carey's accounts of the Padiham Relief [Committee]. He asks him to let Lady [Woodbine] Parish know that he values any criticisms of his novel Ribblesdale, or Lancashire Sixty Years Ago that she cares to make.
