He refers to his father's account of the Liberal meeting at Gawthorpe [Hall]. He says that he intends to talk with William Ransom about the question of school fees. He says he is organising a dinner for around thirty guests at the Castle Hotel. He tells his father that he has made a donation of fifty pounds to the local cricket and recreation ground.
