W[illiam] C[harles] Henry [friend]. Letter to James Phillips Kay [Hardwicke Street, Dublin, Ireland].

Dated at: Edinburgh [Scotland].

He informs Kay that Philip is resigning from the hospital and that Lubbock will fill the vacant clerkship. He nonetheless urges Kay to apply and emphasises the use of making himself known to the governors. He describes travelling from Manchester to Glasgow [Scotland] by coach and then steamship, which sailed from Liverpool. He says he spent much of his time in Glasgow [Scotland] with Drs Bronson and Thompson, friends of his father. He accompanied Thompson to the hospital to observe his work.
