She writes of the death of uncle [James Kay]. Robert [Kay, husband] will be at his brother's house to wind up his affairs. She talks of Robert [Kay jnr.]'s good progress with Mr Jones [in Portsea Island]. Other family news is that James's uncle Fenton and cousins are going into business with Scholfield to build a spinning and weaving factory at Hooley Bridge [Heywood, Rochdale].
