He writes to wish his father and Janet [sister] a happy Christmas. He says that Angela [daughter] is enjoying Christmas. He describes her as fearless and says that she has befriended Punch, one of the big dogs there. He says that Blanche [wife] organised a party for her which included music and dancing. The servants had their Christmas meal, and the fiddle played until midnight.
