Scope and Content

Correspondence and papers relating to the Royal Charter and the change in status of the College. Includes copy of the Charter and Statutes dated 29 July 1955 outlining the proposed structure of a Draft Supplemental Charter and Draft Statutes produced in July 1971. The papers refer to a meeting of the Academic Board on 9 March 1972 concerning the introduction of Ordinances for UMIST. Ordinances refer to Acts of the Court of Governors under powers conveyed by the Charter and relate to matters such as finance, fees, student admissions and staff salaries.
