The Joint Academic Board of the College and Salford Royal Technical College was established to promote co-operation in academic policy between the two institutions. The file includes papers of the Board, and some earlier reports were produced for the Committee of Regional Administration, which was set up in 1933 by the Association of Technical institutions and the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions. This too sought to promote co-operation between technical colleges in the same area and encourage some common standards and policies.
