File: Pattuck Prizes

Scope and Content

The Pattuck annual prize was endowed by R H Pattuck, an Indian cotton merchant who had worked in Manchester, and then retired to Mumbai. It was awarded annually to an Indian student at the College who had made a major contribution to the academic, social and sporting life of the College. Students were nominated by fellow Indian students; a second prize was introduced in 1931, and the terms of the prizes were further revised in later years. The file includes correspondence with Mr Pattuck concerning the administration and regulations for the prizes.
