Papers relating to appointment of Director of Industrial Liaison following the retirement of E. J. Dunstan, Industrial Vice-Principal, in 1964. It was proposed to continue his work in a reorganised form with the establishment of a Department of Industrial Liaison led by a Director with responsibility for encouraging collaboration between the College and industry, specifically relating to practical applications of the College research programme. The material includes letters from Bowden seeking advice on the creation of the post, minutes of meetings relating to the appointment, draft advertisement and application forms. Wilfrid Pennington (b.1926) was appointed to the post in September 1964.
