Scope and Content

The document was written on parchment by the notary John Thornton and it is bearing his authentification mark. It is written in a very neat cursive hand with secretary hand features such as the letter s looking like a Greek sigma, the letter p looking like an x, the letter a with a slight attacking stroke. The first letter is ornamented and the first words are written in bookhand.
