The document was written on parchment by the notary John Michael and it is bearing his authentification mark. It is written in a pre-secretary hand with prominent cursive elements. Typical secretary hand features already visible are: the p written in one continuous action of the pen and looking like an x, the open e, the final s which looks like a greek sigma, the prominent left-ward curve below h and d. The first letters are very slightly ornamented.

Herriot one of the viccars of the queer of Glasgow Lying near to the Molendinar upon the South side of the Gallowgate Disponed by Mr. Nicolais de Auld to the saids viccars of the Queer dated 13 July 1470'.
