The document was written on parchment by the notary Henry Michael and it is bearing his authentification mark, as well as a second authentification mark by John of Hawick. It is written in a bastard hand, a hybrid between formal text hands and informal cursive hand. The first capital letter is ornamented, as well as some other letters on the first line, and the first words are in bookhand.
Instrument upon the confirmation and ratification of the aforesaid sale by Thomas Wynter and Christian his wife, and Thomas and Allan sons of Marion Way.
