Secretum seal of the city of Glasgow, in mediocre condition. Pendant on a tag.
The seal represents St. Kentigern wearing episcopal vestments and a mitre. His right hand is raised in benediction and he holds a crozier in his left hand. To the left is a salmon hauriant with a ring in its mouth and to the left a bell surmounted in chief of a bird. The legend is between raised borders: S'SECRETVM CAPITVLI GLASGVENSIS.
The document was written on parchment by the notary John of Hawick and it is bearing his authentification mark. It is written in a neat cursive hand with some occasional secretary features. The first letter is ornamented.
