LETTER: Thomas Edwards, London to Rev. James Williams, Llanfair enclosing copies of papers received from the agent to Lloyds in the Isle of Wight re the wreck of the ship Bainbridge, and the rocket apparatus invented by Mr Dennet. He has also heard from the coast guard stations at Atherfield and has no doubt that it was the means of opening communication between ship and shore. The Manby apparatus had repeatedly failed in that object. Two of the coast guard men went to offer their boat and saved all 19 passengers in 2 trips. He informs them where the sets of W. Dennet's rocket apparatus were placed by the committee of the shipwreck Institution in 1827.
