LETTER: Thomas Edwards, London to Rev James Williams. He is directed by the committee of the shipwreck institution to acquaint him that they have voted the gold medalion of the institution to be presented to Captain William Owen for his conduct in the case of the Plutarch. The silver medal is to be presented to Richard Morris, and 2 sovereigns each to Morris and the other six crewmen. In the case of the ship Sarah 2 sovereigns are awarded to John Smith and 1 sovereign each to the other 3 men. A draft for £19 is enclosed. He requests to know how to convey the medals to him. He suggests that the case might be inserted in the Liverpool newspapers as a stimulus to their funds.
