LETTER: High Jones, Church Bank, Beaumaris to Rev. James Williams Llanfairynghornwy reporting the sinking of the sloop Jane of Amlwch the previous day and the rescue of the crew by the lifeboat. The crew had already got into their boat and landed on Puffin Island. They were obliged to leave the boy there in the charge of the telegraph man as he had hurt his foot. Captain Williams gave the crew a sovereign. The crew are very pleased with the tramway. He is too busy to write a newspaper account.
