Thursday [18 Jan 1883]. 'I will try to write the Circular.' The Circular written by JB and circulated in 1883 was the subject of some correspondence (see letters of 28 Mar and 6 Jun 1883). The date of the composition and of this letter was therefore likely to be in Jan 1883.
