20 Jan [c.1883] 'My son Stanley is very ill.' Stanley was then 29 and had been Professor of Natural Philosophy at St Andrews University since 1880. 'I hope I shall get to the meetings.' This referred to the Meetings at the Convention organised by the Friends' Association 24 & 25 Jan. Biog: Stanley Butler.
