[the motion for the Abolition of the compulsory examination of women under the CD Acts was to be brought up after the Debate on the Address early in the year. The Debate was protracted and the opportunity lost but the motion was brought up by Stansfeld on 20 Apr and passed] Mrs C. objected to the expression used by Josephine Butler that men 'choose to be present' at these debates as if they went for pleasure.
