Administrative / Biographical History
'I have a nice letter from Aaron Powell.' Mr & Mrs Aaron Powell of New York. They first took the anti-Regulation work seriously on the occasion of the visit of HJ Wilson & Rev Gledstone to the USA in 1876 to propagate Abolitionist principles there. It was largely owing to his devoted work that Regulation was kept out of the USA. He always attended the Triennial Congresses of the International Federation. (Taken from the 'Shield' Aug 1899 p.54). For details of the Convention which they have come for. See letter of JB to Miss Priestman 10 Nov 1882 with Note about Friends Association Convention 24 & 25 Jan 1983. Biog: Mr & Mrs Aaron Powell; M. de Lavaleye; Dr Nevins.
