MS 355: Bank Pass Book of Henry Handley Norris

Scope and Content

Together with MSS 349-354 this forms a set of six 19th century account books, and a bank pass book, belonging to Henry Handley Norris (1771-1850, Church of England clergyman and leader of the High Church faction known as the Hackney Phalanx). This volume is a bank pass book covering the years 1826-1830. Purchased using the Leishman fund in 1981 (Colvin's supplement to Coxe).

Across head of fols 1v and 2r in calligraphic hand: "D. The Bank of England. With the Revd Henry Handley | Norris Cr." [Fols 1r & 36v blank except for rough calculations].
