Scope and Content

To James Bone from Charles A. Selden. Reminiscences of when he first met Boardman in 1929 or 1930, and of Sir Alexander MacIntosh and Robert Lynd. He asks about Arthur Mann, ex-editor of the Yorkshire Post. He enquires after his retirement event, and the location of Tilford [Surrey].

He regrets having retired when Austria was annexed in 1938; he recalls Austen Chamberlain saying that the independence of Austria was indispensible to the integrity of the continent and Britian's foreign policy. He refers to his 50th wedding anniversary.
