Scope and Content

The Flint County Teachers' Association formed part of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), which was established in 1870 as the National Union of Elementary Teachers. Flint County Teachers' Association was formed in 1903 from the Mold, Rhyl, Holywell and Chester (Flints) area associations.

In 1974, Flint County and Denbighshire Teachers' Associations were wound up and the new Clwyd County division of the NUT formed. See also DD/DM/1007 at Denbigshire Record Office, for records of Denbighshire Teachers' Association.
