The document, written on parchment, bears the authentification mark of John of Hawick and is written in his moderately formal handwriting, that is to say a rather cursive hand, but the first capital letter is ornamented, and the first words are in modified bookhand.
Instrument upon a disposition of two acres of field land, disponed by Richard Stevenson, son of Allan Stevenson and burgess of Glasgow, with the consent of John Stevenson his heir, in favour of Malcom de Menteith burgess of Glasgow and his heirs.
