Charter by John Smith, chaplain of St Mungo and executor of Cuthbert Simson vicar of Dalzell, who asks for a chapel which will have a chaplain at the altar of St Nicolas, to be erected on the lands he mortifies, that is to say: 4 acres of arable land on the Dovehill, 2 acres of arable land with pertinents in the crofts of the burgh of Glasgow, with 2 other acres of arable land in the croft of Kymlaith, and an annual rent of 20 shillings Scots out of the house belonging to Alexander Telfer with yard and pertinents on the Watergate, an annual rent of 12 shillings Scots out of the tenement belonging to William Wodruse, an annual rent of 14 shillings out of a yard and pertinents on the High Street of St Thenews, an annual rent of 10 shillings out of the tenement of Bessy Boyd with yard and pertinents, an annual rent of 4 shillings Scots out of the tenement belonging to Janet Simson, sister of the said Cuthbert Simson. The dean and the chapter of the church of Glasgow are appointed patrons of the said chapel.
