Scope and Content

Seal of Mr James Balfour, dean of Glasgow. Pendant on a tag.

The seal represents a heater-shaped shield bearing arms: an otter's head on a chevron. The legend is between raised borders with a beaded border encircling the whole: S'IACOBI BALFOVR DECANI GLASGVENSIS.

The document is written on parchment in a secretary hand. No ornamentation.
