Administrative / Biographical History
Francis Gerald Finch (b 1924) was educated at Stonyhurst College and undertookmilitary service, 1943-1950, including with the Somalia Gendarmerie in Italian Somaliland,1946-1948, in the 3rd Battalion, King's African Rifles, Somalia and Kenya,1949-1950, rising to the rank of captain. He started work as a cadet,Tanganyika, 1951, and held the position of district officer, 1953-1962 inthe Tanganyika Government Service.
