Scope and Content

Research notebook compiled by Robert Barnes pertaining to the placenta and gravid uterus and containing drawings, letters, pamphlets, journal articles, and notes on the work and cases of other medical men (1722-1887). Topics include umbilical cord strength, diseases of the placenta, adhesions and hydatids of the uterus, comparative anatomy of the placenta, and other aspects of a pregnant woman's physiology.
