Scope and Content

Research notebook compiled by Robert Barnes relating to turning, spontaneous evolution, forceps, and difficult presentations during birth, including newspaper clippings, letters, and notes taken from lectures and manuscripts of other medical men (1799 - 1863). Also included are notes on rupture of the uterus and the importance of the child's life to the welfare of the mother.
