Scope and Content

Research notebook compiled by Robert Barnes pertaining to the use of forceps and containing pamphlets, letters, journal articles, and notes on the works and cases of other medical men (1807-1876). Topics include cases that require forceps, the invention of forceps and early secrecy, an article about the contents of Barnes' midwifery bag, and the injuries that could be incurred in the use of forceps.
