Scope and Content

Research notebook compiled by Robert Barnes pertaining to diseases affecting women after they give birth and containing journal articles and notes on the work and cases of other medical men (1835-1872). Topics include sudden deaths in childbed, heart disease, thrombi, paralysis of uterus, bladder, and legs, pneumonia, bronchitis, gangrene, tetanus, and pelvic abscesses.
