Research notebook compiled by Robert Barnes pertaining to abortion and containing letters, drawings, a patient card, and notes on the work and cases of other medical men. Topics include various causes of abortion such as coitus, uterine adhesions, mercury poisoning, watery ovary, Bright's disease, criminal and accidental causes, some nervous diseases, mental shock, retroversion, immaturity, hindrance of tumours to development of uterus, and climacteric abortion. Treatments and many case notes are also included.
