COPY LETTER: Robert Jones, Amlwch to E.R. Evans & Co., London replying to his letter declining the notice of abandonment. At time of writing he was under the impression that he was complying with the rules. He is not aware of anything further he can do; the captain is there to do his best for all concerned. During his 12 years as master he has only met with one accident and were obliged to put into Bermuda and discharge cargo and the claim against the insurance was only about £50. All he had accumulated such as charts, instruments and chronometer etc. were on board and not a penny insurance on them. He hopes they have been able to save some. He has not heard since he last wrote to Evans & Co.
