Scope and Content

LETTER: R.O. Jones, "Lord Tredegar", Port Natal to his father and sister. He received their most kind letter and was glad to hear that they are well at home. They arrived at Port Natal a fortnight ago after a fine passage and he thinks they will be away next Thursday. He hasn't got much news only that they have sport with black men since arriving there. The "George Booth" got there this morning. They passed her off Madeira Island. They don't know where they will be going to from Port Natal. He has been thinking about them all the time. If his old mother knew where he is now she would be thinking of him every minute. He has cried a lot for her and for everyone at home. He would like to be home Christmas to have a pudding with them again. Asks to be remembered to Richard. He is in a hurry to catch the post and would like more time to write.
