Scope and Content

As a modern language teacher, Strachan was keen to provide pupils with access to French texts in the original. Accordingly, he edited two selections of French literary texts, Ici Paris (1952) and Ici les provinces (1956). He also published a number of French novels for Methuen Educational Ltd, beginning with Camus's La peste in 1959. The material listed here includes different editions of Strachan's translations, and in the case of Camus's novel, the original French text from which Strachan worked.
