Scope and Content

Books by Strachan on the French livre d'artiste, or artist's book. He wrote numerous articles on the genre during the 1940s-1990s, but his first full-length and authoritative study appeared in 1969, bringing this art form to a new audience in the UK; he drew on this key text and added a new introduction to the subject in the lengthy and detailed catalogue of his collection as given to the Taylor Institution in Oxford in 1987, to accompany an exhibition. All of these publications are included here, as follows:
