Memorandum that Lord Stamford is willing to appropriate part of his second subscription now due to him from the volunteer fund at Ashton under Lyne, towards enlarging the Sunday school, provided that the doctrines of the Established Church of England continue to be taught and that the parishioners will use their utmost endeavour to support it. Lord Stamford agrees to give £100 in lieu of timber to rebuild the tower of the church and a donation of £200 towards the complete repair of the organ. [See also EGR4/1/8/5 below.]
