Letter from Hugo Worthington to Lord Stamford (/30), dated 7 March 1812. Discusses Samuel Higginbottom's application to lease a plot of land for building at Ashton under Lyne in a situation which would make it necessary to fix the streets which have not yet been set out. The plot is in line with Stamford Street, at the corner of the Cow Croft.
Encloses a plan of the area of Ashton under Lyne (/31), showing existing streets including Stamford Street, Mill Lane, Delamere Street and the turnpike road from Manchester, and proposed streets superimposed on fields.
