A plaque on the White Rabbit Memorial between Pen Morfa and the Model Yacht Pond states 'On this very shore during happy rambles with Alice Liddell, Lewis Carroll was inspired to write that literary treasure Alice in Wonderland, which has charmed children for generations. Unveiled by the Rt. Hon. David Lloyd George, O.M., M.P., September 6th 1933'.
