This production marked the Society's Silver Jubilee. 'Rio Rita' was a musical play in two acts and the Society was affiliated to the National Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Association. The production was staged at the Pier Pavilion, Llandudno on Monday 6 December 1948 and the following five nights with a Matinee on Wednesday 8 December. The proceeds were in aid of local and other charities, including the Llandudno and District Hospital, Doctor Barnardo's Home, the Police Benevolent Fund, the local branch of the Royal Artillery Association, the North Wales Fund for the Blind etc.
