Scope and Content

The team were: G. Challenor; C. A. Roach; W. St. Hill; R. K. Nunes; O. C. Scott; C. R. Browne; L. N. Constantine; E. A. Rae; C. V. Wright; T. Neblett and G. Francis.

On the 22 July 1928, a Civic Reception was given to the West Indies and the Welsh Cricket Teams at the North Western Hotel. Matches were held on the 25, 26 and 27 July and permission was given to the Llandudno Cricket Club to display a streamer across Mostyn Street on match days. After the matches finished, Mr. G. E. Rowland said that he would like to thank all who had made the matches so enjoyable. He mentioned Messrs. A. C. W. Lowe, Assistant Hon. Sec. of the Welsh Cricket Union and Members of the Committee. Mr. Norman Riches, the Welsh Captain, said that he would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Rowland for the way they had entertained them. He hoped that Mr. Rowland's retirement from the Presidency of the Welsh Cricket Union would not mature at the end of the year. Mr. Nunes, Captain of the West Indies Team, also said that on behalf of himself and his team he wished to thank Mr. and Mrs. Rowland and others who had made their visit to North Wales so enjoyable. Wales won by 29 runs.
