Scope and Content

From Bristol to 'Will'. He had hoped to see him before now, but a bad fall has laid him up fora while. Mr Ford bled him the day after the accident, and Dr Middleton '& a troop of female surgeons joined in consultation about me'. He still cannot bend over without pain.

Will recommended in his last letter the pursuit of 'business & vanity of company' as a treatment for depression. Charles finds this surprising as Will has 'tasted the true medicine of life', and should not therefore hold such views.
