Scope and Content

From Newbury, Berkshire, to Sarah Wesley, in [Bristol] hoping that she is as much at ease as he is. He met with [John] Downes and his company made him forget the journey. He remembers Sarah's 'distress in this house & your deliverance here - & in Bristol', [Sarah's conversion?] for which she should continually thank God.

His love should be passed to F. Vigor, T. Hamilton, M. Davis, and all his other friends.

He would be pleased to hear that Sarah is spending time at Clifton near Bristol '& yr harpsichord'.
