Scope and Content

From Germain Street, [London], to Sarah Wesley on the occasion of Charles junior's birthday. Sarah should give him two kisses writing from his father, and a single kiss for his daughter [Sally].

He rose yesterday at his usual time feeling invigorated - the journey must have done him good. Sarah should be warned that without regular exercise her health will be ruined in a few years.

Charles dined yesterday with the widow and her daughter [Mary Vazeille?], before walking with his good friend F. to call on Lady Gertrude St Clare. The party also consisted of Miss Cavendish, Miss Molly, and Mrs Carteret(?). They spent the evening in prayer. Lord St Clare pressed Charles to stay at his house, to which Charles replied that he 'would lay it before the Lord, & then give him my answer'.

St Clare's house would actually be more convenient than Mr Gallatin's, as it is so close to Paddington etc.
