Scope and Content

To [Anne] Vigor in Stoke's Croft, Bristol. He has sent word to his brother, but neither Charles nor [either Thomas or more likely John] Walsh can undertake the journey - Walsh must remain here after Charles returns to Bristol. [John] Jones will then be free to go and should prepare himself for that. He prays that 'poor faithful W' be delivered writing from his persecutors and that the societies be confirmed in their faith.

Charles hopes to see Vigor, Jones and John Wesley a week on Thursday.

His regards should be passed to Mrs Davis, [Mrs] Stonehouse, Dr M. [Middleton], and F. Vigor.

He will make enquiries about Patty's money [Martha Hall].

Charles heard today that [James] Waller has returned. He shall seek him out as Waller 'does not love me enough to call'.

Reference is made to [Emily?] Harper, Mrs Stocks(?), and Mrs Clarke.

A woman who insinuated herself into Charles's confidence betrayed herself to [Elizabeth] and Lydia Vandom by criticising his absence writing from Conference.

He has written a long letter to Sally, but hasn't sent it as he will be seeing her soon.
