Client: Sir Robert McAlpine and Sons Ltd, Engineering Contractors.

Concerning the proposal for a second nuclear power station (Oldbury 'B') at Oldbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire for the Central Electricity Generating Board (Southern Project Group). The initial site investigation was carried out by Soil Mechanics Ltd on the instruction of the consulting engineers, Rendel Palmer and Tritton. Rowe, working with Edgar Morton and Partner, advised The Nuclear Power Group regarding their tender for the construction of the reactor building and provided help on the estimates of likely 'heave' at the bottom of the deep excavations.
