Scope and Content

The bundle contains statements of the account of George Harry Grey (1737-1819), 5th Earl of Stamford, with John Jackson esq, his legal and financial adviser. Debit items include payments by order of Lord Stamford of annuities to members of his family, payments to other individuals, payments of interest on loans, purchases of annuities, stocks and lottery tickets, payments of insurance premiums on Dunham Massey Hall and Enville Hall, purchases of property, payments of rent, cash payments to Lord Stamford. Credit items include receipts of dividends on stocks and interest on loans, bills on individuals, rents, lottery ticket prizes, proceeds of sales of stocks and annuities.

Acquisition Information

All pieces were received from Dunham Massey Hall on 29 June 1990.
