Scope and Content

Written from the Federation office, Neuchatel. She is writing on behalf of the Federation to beg her friend and other members of the LNA to come to the Antwerp Conference 16-18 Sep 1885. Gives three points, which make it an occasion of special importance: 1. For the Continent for promoting in other capitals the results of the following on the revelations of the Pall Mall Gazette, 2. For the English public that they may not rely too much on the victory lately gained in Parliament for the protection of girls 3. For both sides of the Channel that they may all learn that the hopes of greater justice in the future depend on the permanence of an awakened spiritual life and of a higher moral sense among the people. And women must not rest until equally with men they have the power of directly influencing the laws by which they are governed.
